Digital Laboratory

The Digital Laboratory (labdigital) is intended for the production of a series of digital materials prepared by undergraduate and graduate students of the UFPA History course and made available free of charge to teachers of the Public Education Network, high school students and the general public. Going beyond the final product, we value the process of training a History professional that transits and explores a more updated language in tune with the new media and social networks. We are expanding the pedagogical mechanisms of insertion of our students in the Digital Age. At the same time, it allows undergraduates and graduates a new way of understanding and socializing the knowledge they have access to throughout their professional training. Labdigital has audio and image recording studio, document scanning kits, computers for editing images, audio, maps and documents, website for the dissemination of the material produced by the students.

History Laboratory – LABHIS

The building, called History Laboratory (LABHIS), with approximately 1000m² of area, has: two classrooms, rooms for all PPHIST professors, study room for PPHIST students, room for Coordination and room for Administrative Staff of PPHIST and library; the rooms are equipped with Projectors and internet access. In 2017, the History Laboratory was approved by PROEG Official Notice 01/2017 of UFPA - linked to the Support Program for the Qualification of Undergraduate Education (PGRAD) and to the subprogram Support to Infrastructure of Teaching Laboratories (LABINFRA), with the objective of update and improve the laboratory infrastructure used in regular undergraduate training activities. The resources of this notice guaranteed the creation of the Digital Laboratory of the Faculty of History, LABDIGITAL. Coordinated by Professor Antônio Otaviano Vieira Jr. LABDIGITAL works in the building of the History Laboratory and its activities of digitization of historical sources, production of audio-visual didactic material and dissemination of the works of researchers and students of the History area of UFPA. of the master's and doctoral students of PPHIST, through their respective research groups.

The physical infrastructure has been the target of investments by the Program, Faculty of History and Rectory, which is not limited to the new building, but includes furniture and computer equipment. A building that joins the Laboratory of History to the Graduate Program assists in a closer relationship between graduate and undergraduate studies, as in fact it has happened mainly because of the joint activities that have been carried out in the building. LABHIS has become the center of graduate and undergraduate academic life, where a range of academic activities, such as classes, events, lectures, undergraduate, graduate, and research group meetings, converge.

The Amazon Memory Center is a sub-unit of UFPA partner of PPHIST / UFPA and the Faculty of History. This Center has the custody of the documentary collection of the Court of Justice of the State of Pará. It is a building with a classroom, a mini auditorium and a research room. Several events and courses are developed in that space, expanding our infrastructure.
